This is JG1152. The bass that sold on eBay for £2300 few weeks ago. It looks like he's put a set of stings on ( badly) and perhaps given it a polish, not even replaced the knob, for a £2000 mark up......

I was in negotiations with him last year over a different Wal, I didn't buy from him in the end. I know he has/had a whole load of Yamaha's for sale.

Well over priced. You can get a nice shiny wood one for that much (and less). Bit of a mystique about these "original"/ "JG" models as there aren't many (in fact this is odd as it's got a JG number but is a pro2e - so a very early pro2 .. but the neck looks more recent.

Anyways I'd rather have a "custom" (aka Mk1) with the final version of the electronics and the mahogany body.
