rubis
Hi I have a mexican p bass which I am currently tinkering with and I want to upgrade the bridge for something a bit more adjustable and substantial However, as it's a lovely Lake Placid Blue, with a gloss neck from a blacktop, and a faded looking parchment guard, I'd like to retain as much of the old school look as possible, including the bridge cover So, has anyone successfully used one of the aftermarket bridges EG Hipshot, Schaller, Gotoh etc and kept the bridge cover in place? I'm open to any suggestions for and against, and not worried if a little 'fettling' would be required, as long as it's worthwhile Thanks in advance
Shambo
The Gotoh 203 bridge is a direct replacement, a little bit more substantial and retains that old school look. I haven't tried it with a cover though.
