Orange Gas

So despite my Aguilar AG500 performing flawlessly, and the SM-1500 sitting quietly in reserve, I find myself gassing for either an OB1 or 4-Stroke 500's.

Looks like the 4-Stroke might be more my thing but any users of both care to share some real world experience?

Hiho,Wee bit off thread but I have experience with AD200 and a lot i experience with OTB500.
Orange has it,s own sound ,itsa marmite thing but they go very loud and if you like the sound ,get the toast on.
ps,they sound great with an OBC115 or two..

I've had an Orange 4 Stroke (500) for a few months - I have to say it's awesome !!

It took a couple or 3 gigs to settle on an eq.
For me it's a brilliant amp !!

I've had a DGM900 & still have Ashdown ABM500 evo3 & I'd say it's somewhere in between the both of them 2 sonically.
I use it to drive a Barefaced Big Twin 2. The 500 one I have is really loud & most of the time I use the in built switch that reduces the o/p by an amount (I can't remember the figure off the top of my head but maybe 3dB ??).
The compression I don't use much because I have a Compressor pedal (Omni FX Smoothie). It's a little heavy due to it being Class A/B but that isn't a problem for me.

I'd say try one out first & do so with your own cab.
