siggi
Hi all, I have owned and used a Portabass 2x12 for some time and yesterday it failed me. We were playing in full sunshine ( 25oC) and it cut - I plugged into the PA for the end of the first set and checked it again in the break and it started working again . It then lasted for about another 20 mins and cut again . Got it home today and checked it to be working ? I know it sounds like a needle in a haystack but has anyone had a similar experience if so what's likely ? It runs one of the original Aurora neodymiums and an Eminence neodymium. and sounds great ( The Aurora started to rattle so I replaced and I'm beginning to hear similar noises from the remaining one so I'm thinking it may be time to get another Eminence ?? Any advice would be helpful

basshead56
Sounds like it's being cooked. Direct sunlight in warm weather and power going through it all add up to putting it under a bit of stress. The cabs themselves are made of quite thin, lightweight material aren't they?
