Sweeneythebass Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Looking for a one cab solution to max my 350watts from the Tonehammer and wondered what people's experience of pairing with a traveler 102p (4ohm) was Quote
chris_b Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Get a Barefaced Super Compact or Super Midget. Those cabs are very efficient at turning watts into SPL, so will easily make your 8 ohm amp sound like anyone else's 4 ohms 500 watt version. An SC will be much louder than an MB Traveller cab and have a fuller, fatter, bigger and better tone. If you're near SW London you can come over and try mine. Quote
Sweeneythebass Posted September 4, 2017 Author Posted September 4, 2017 I'm North west London so not far. Are you selling? Quote
chris_b Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 No, not selling. I just thought it might help you make a decision if you heard one in person. IME you can read about these cabs but if you only have experience of "normal" cabs the claims can sound pretty far fetched. Like a 212 that beats an 810 fridge? Until you hear them, then you realise these cabs are in a different league and the claims are accurate and absolutely true. Quote
Sweeneythebass Posted September 4, 2017 Author Posted September 4, 2017 Thanks Chris I've had an email conversation with Alex from Barefaced he recommended a two10 for my setup, I might just have to order one as they're pretty rare second hand Quote
chris_b Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 Good move. Alex's advice is always spot on. Plus your safety net is the 1 month trial period. Quote
cgg199 Posted September 4, 2017 Posted September 4, 2017 (edited) If you want to try a Two10, it's probably worth heading over to The Gallery. They had one when I visited a week or so back which I'm guessing is still there. Edited September 4, 2017 by cgg199 Quote
