CameronJ Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 (edited) Earlier today I came across these guys: https://www.facebook.com/alperiouspickguard/ Sorry for the photo overload but they're just so nice! Is there anyone in the UK who can do a similar thing?? I want a couple for my Yammy BB! Edited September 5, 2017 by CameronJ Quote
Dood Posted September 5, 2017 Posted September 5, 2017 Ok, here ya go: http://www.beckybaldwinbass.com/custom-pickguard-endorsement/ Quote
CameronJ Posted September 6, 2017 Author Posted September 6, 2017 (edited) Any idea where I could get such a thing done over here? Edit: actually, since he seems to be the best guy in the world for this kind of work, I may as well just put in a custom order with him. He's sent guards all over the world so it shouldn't be a problem. Now I just need to find out how much they cost... Edited September 6, 2017 by CameronJ Quote

TheGreek Posted September 6, 2017 Posted September 6, 2017 Bertbass has access to a water jet - maybe you could contact him.... Quote
bazzbass Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 I was just thinking how to make my basses even heavier, once the shoulder goes numb you can add extra weight lol Quote
CameronJ Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 I know...and my BB isn't exactly a lightweight as it is but oh well. I'm a large guy myself so I'll deal with it. Quote
Bobthedog Posted September 7, 2017 Posted September 7, 2017 Don't do it! According to a thread on Talkbass, pickguards ruin the sound,. Imagine what these will do! The ones on the black guitars do appeal to me, though. Quote
CameronJ Posted September 7, 2017 Author Posted September 7, 2017 Haha! I haven't seen that one but I may well search for the thread just for the comedy value. I love how the Lakland guard is completely different from the stock guard shape and encompasses the volume knob! Top quality craftsmanship. Quote
CameronJ Posted September 15, 2017 Author Posted September 15, 2017 No idea, I still haven't inquired. Quote
edstraker123 Posted September 16, 2017 Posted September 16, 2017 Do you have to send your bass over if it doesn't currently have a pickguard which could be used as a template I wonder ? Really want one for my new Marusczcyk Elwood - it would be awesome if it could incorporate the control plate (which certainly looks possible) Quote
