ash Posted September 8, 2017 Posted September 8, 2017 (edited) I bought this from Basschatter cd_david earlier this week, a lovely old Tokai Hardpuncher bass dating from 1981/82 according to the original owner. The logo and headstock shape points to an early model. It has been refurbished with new hardware including Grover tuners and tort scratchplate and the pickup replaced with a MIM Precision. The neck is in excellent shape and the body has only a few dings and blemishes. There is a battery box at the back when the original owner had installed an EMG active pickup. The body and neck are stamped and there is a seven digit serial number on the neck plate. The frets are superb and I actually suspect that it's been refretted. It comes strung with flats and includes a case. Only selling because I have the opportunity to purchase a very nice JV bass that matches my JV Jazz. This is a lovely old MIJ Tokai for not much cash. Bass is now sold. Edited September 14, 2017 by ash
