fretmeister Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 Equity and other bodies like that insist you have a name that isn't being used by anyone else to avoid confusion. Quote

timmo Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 (edited) when your name is John Smith, it becomes difficult Edited September 14, 2017 by timmo Quote
chris_b Posted September 14, 2017 Posted September 14, 2017 For about 10 years in the 80's and 90's I played with a drummer who was using a false name for tax purposes. I only found out after the band broke up! Quote
SpondonBassed Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017
I had to use one because Kevin Dean was already taken...
Hahahahahaha! Quote
Nicko Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 My name is Nick. My surname begins with O. So its not really a pseudonym. I wrote an on line blog for a few years and in some cases was critical of people and companies that might have caused some problems and assumed a pseudonym for obvious reasons. It didn't go down when well when one of our friends stumbled on the blog and told Mrs Nicko. On the blog she was called Genghis. I eventually got bold enough to post photos on the blog that would enable people to identify me. Quote
Steve Browning Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 I'm actually Adam Clayton but too ashamed to admit to it on a bass player's forum. Quote

Steve Browning Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Aha! Glad you liked the clips. Quote
Raymondo Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 I disguised my first name very cleverly....you'll never work it out Bwhahahahah! Quote
anzoid Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017 Started out as my first initial, wife's first initial, first kid's first initial and second kid's first initial. Third kid arrived and "anzoj" would have been silly - so it became anzoid... Quote

fftc Posted September 15, 2017 Posted September 15, 2017
Actually, I used to use my full name, but after reading a thread as to the origins of our usernames I realised perhaps I should have been a bit more security conscious and changed it- but then I'm on Facebook, so what difference does it really make?
I use a pseudonym on Facebook as well! I'd say it's more important to use one on there than on here. Quote
