Ice de la aqua
Hello, i have an original 63 Hofner senator bass. It has one pickup, however although it is the original one; it is broken, it doesnt produce the bass tone, only treble. I was wondering if there is any way of repairing it, or if anyone knows someone who can. If not, how to go about putting a new one in. It really plays beautifully apart from the pickup. Looking forward to hearing any advice. Thanks for reading.

Ice de la aqua
Have you tested the pickup or is it still in situ in the bass and the output is only treble ?
i have not touched the pickup as i dont have the skill to do it without potentially breaking the whole bass. All i know is that when the tone knob is turned towards the low end it just gradually attenuates until silent. The pickup is quiet anyway. MoonBassAlpha
Sounds more like a wiring fault than the pickup itself.
