Maude
Most Line6 multi effects units have all the amp/cab/effect sims for both guitar and bass in them including pre amp sims for guitar, bass and vocals.

Beedster
Shameless plug but this is a good unit for bass/guitar/vox, two channels can also be run simultaneously http://basschat.co.uk/topic/312041-fs-line-6-pod-x3-pro-fxmodel-for-bassguitarvox/ Chris

Skol303
How about one of these? http://acmeaudio.net/motown-di/
These looks great and get good reviews. Thanks for the heads up. From personal experience I'd also recommend any of the Radial DI boxes. Superb sound quality and built like tanks. For bass, the Little Labs Redeye is something that gets consistently great reviews from pros and amateurs alike. I don't have any experience with it, but seems well worth a look. Beyond these you're getting into the realms of stuff like 500 series (aka lunchboxes) and other pro outboard. If so, you can't ever go wrong with an API 512c or similar, which are pretty much 'industry standard' when it comes to multi-purpose DI for guitar, bass, vocals... whatever you choose to throw at it. tonyxtiger
you could use the tech 21 Q\strip which is a studio EQ and Preamp with a DI? Sounds great. https://fxpedalrental.com/tech21-q-strip-studio-eq-and-preamp.html
Beedster
can you run a guitar through this as well as a bass
Yes, and although I've not done it, you can do both at the same time using entirely independent patches on each. It's got two independent channels with a mic and instrument input on each. I bought it because I thought I would use all the functionality but as I use it exclusively in the studio, I've got multi-channel functionality anyway. I also thought that running two mics (on acoustic guitar) into this and running hardware FX before going into the desk and using plug-ins might save some processing power but I've got too many units and I realised I'm starting to complicate what was supposed to be a very simple studio set up again (bloody eBay/Basschat)! I imagine that live it would have pretty much every base/bass covered to be honest. Chris
LewisK1975
Wouldn't be able to run a guitar and bass at the same time, but the Tech21 ParaDriver DI works really well for both guitar and Bass.
