Guest MoJo
I'll say. The pickups have eroded away during the relic'ing process

Grangur
Well now we know how to increase the value of basses we sell; remove the pups and sand some paint off. Going by this, it adds about 25%!

itsmedunc
What a kin mess! There's a red one on that looks well for £140 BIN too!
£150 or so is the going price for these, seems like that's always been the case, probably because they're bomb-proof and there are thousands of them around. And Ebay's full of delusionals & chancers with ludicrous BINs & start prices. And they never, ever sell....

I've got a 2 MK2 which is basically a Thunder 3 and it's great. The most under rated bass I've ever played. Mk 1 & 1A are great bargains considering the quality, shame the through-neck 2 & 3 tend to be more in line with other similarly built Matsumokus. Always fancied a 2xP Thunder 2. Mind you, it's cheaper than this one: http://www.ebay.co.u...5.c100005.m1851 Edited September 22, 2017 by prowla

lowregisterhead
These are the basses that Henry 'Magic Thumb' Thomas used to endorse in the 80's, IIRC. Whatever happened to him?
lowregisterhead
After a quick google it appears it was 'King Thumb'... still giving lessons, although his website looks like it was designed in the 90's...
