Rocker
I have been thinking of getting a local cabinet maker to build a 15" bass cabinet. Anyone got plans or internet links for building said cabinet? Thanks

bertbass
Go here, http://www.billfitzmaurice.com choose your design and buy the plans from bill. Not the most expensive in the world and you'll know that the cab will be one of the best that you could ever own.
aitkenaudio
those are the two best plans you can get but if you wanna keep it simple the tl606 design is tried and tested
Bill Fitzmaurice
those are the two best plans you can get but if you wanna keep it simple the tl606 design is tried and tested
The TL606 came out forty years ago as a first generation T/S design, crafted around drivers that haven't been produced in 15 years, constructed with building techniques that haven't been used for even longer than that. Tried and tested yes, but also old and tired.
Chopthebass
I built a Simplexx 15, one of Bill's designs. It is very, very good.
mrtcat
Both Fearful and BFM designs are great. I've had both designs but currently run a fearful cab that I built myself and it's absolutely exceptional. Super light, very handsome and sounds killer. Rocker
Where are you? G.
I live in the centre of the Republic of Ireland. Not a lot of second hand 15" bass cabs come on the market over here. New loaded cabs are very expensive. I know that building a cab is for more than the prospect of saving money but I have an old mahogany headboard that I would like to use for this project. Bill Fitzmaurice
Solid wood is not a suitable material for large speakers. I'll use it for hi-fi speakers where the smallest dimension is no more than eight inches, but not for any professional cabs.
