wateroftyne
Hey gang I (very) recently sold my ol' faithful '71P, with the intention of buying / restoring something a lightweight 60s P. But... this popped up on my radar and I made the mistake of having a go on it. It's light (8.5lbs-ish), lively, and blimmin' lovely. And that rosewood... yum! Pickups are replacements from '76, and the bridge isn't original. Apart from that, it's as-is... It seems to be richer growlier than my warm, round '71. Lots of variation with the tone, though. Highfox
Very nice. Classic! I also recently swapped out a 69/70 P I had, but kept my 72/73 as it sounded better and also seemed to have more variation in tone as you mention.

Steve Browning
That is exactly what a bass guitar should look like. I think I may be suffering from something but that is pretty much my favourite sight.

dmccombe7
WOT - Out of curiosity would you get the finish on the back redone or leave as is. Love the look of the bass. If i was buying a P bass that would be the one for me too. Sounds fantastic. Dave
wateroftyne
I'm actually - SHOCK HORROR - considering getting it refinned Oly, but if not I'd be happy leaving it as-is.
Conan
Lovely sunburst on the "new" one. Your '71 had faded to pretty much 2T hadn't it? That is a strong, deep 3T. Sounds Ok too... You need to get your sig updated mind... Edited September 25, 2017 by Conan
