barneythedog
Don't know how genuine these are - 24hr auctions, relatively new account and only feedback as a seller looks odd, but if they are genuine there may be a bargain to be had? neilb
Dont know about the J, but the sunburst on the P looks a bit iffy.
warwickhunt
Sorry but no-one in their right mind puts a couple of decent basses up on a 24hr listing... unless it's dodgy!
eubassix
Agree John - just had a quick look and this guy currently has 27 items up on ebay with many 'top' basses & guitars with 24H listing (and no Reserve), including: 77 Strat.: 75 Jazz; 75 P; 67 EBO; LP Custom; 75 Strat; 73 4001; Modulus Q4; 3 saxes; assorted computer parts and 'wire'(?). Always check the Feedback: ALL within the month of July 2007 and 19/20 have come from 'Private' Auctions (so item details are not available!) which seems a bit strange and way above the average of Private Listings on ebay. Not sure how it's done and whether it's a full scam or stolen ebay-ID. The prices are currently ridiculously low - but if enough people are drawn-in he could make a massive killing in one day. I would guess that each of the ones listed above might go for £1k each, so that's £8k just on the guitars/basses. Could be I'm wrong, but it looks 'too good to be true'.... bassbloke
I sent my usual friendly 'Hello, I'm based nearby and work in London, could I pay cash and collect in person. I have plenty of positive feedback' message and got a terse reply stating 'mail order only'. He also doesn't take paypal. Make of that what you will... Musky
Many of these basses have been advertised on London Gumtree for a while now, all from someone in Finchley. The seller has his phone number there, as well as the fact that they can be viewed at a guitar shop. The Precision - http://www.gumtree.com/london/44/8115444.html The 75 Strat he's 'selling' is from someone else though, also on Gumtree - http://www.gumtree.com/london/52/9703252.html . Different phone number. And the Modulus is being sold by someone in Ruislip - http://www.gumtree.com/london/14/8046614.html Steer well clear. PauBass
Both Items are no longer available, they have been removed. A bit weird, don't you think?

I'm just a little surprised that ebay were so quick in removing him. It's a tricky one because you can tell if someone's duplicated another eBay listing, but the seller might have geniunely put it up on eBay because it wouldn't sell on Gumtree. Luckily for me, the daft so-and-so who stole my listing listed his eBay location as Scotland.
