T-Bay
Just wondering if most people stick to one type or have a range.
TheGreek
I currently have several 4s, one that is fretless and a 5er...Normally I only use fretted 4s. Thinking about it, the fretless and 5er haven't been played in weeks.
Lozz196
Four-string basses for me, and rarely use all four of those, so no point me getting any more strings on my basses.

xgsjx
You didn't say whether this was basses or instruments. I have a 4 string bass (& one in bits), a 6 string acoustic (guitar), a ukulele & a keyboard. I'm wanting a 5 string bass, possibly fretless. radiophonic
2 x 4. One fretless. I could see the attraction in a BEAD 4 string though. Not sure if it's doable without filing the nut though.
Woodinblack
Mostly 5s, and a fretless 5, but I also have some 4s.

dmccombe7
Started with 4 and after a few ventures into 6 stringers then went for few 5 stringers for a Prog project i am now back to my simple Fender Jazz bass cause it just seems to fit most of the styles i play. Cato
Currently I have three four strings. I'm hopefully adding a 4 string fretless in December or January. At some vague point in the future I'll almost certainly get a 6 string bass, but that may require some saving up. Dad3353
My main bass, a Hofner Verithin, an OLP 4-string baritone guitar/bass, our youngest's 5-string Cort and my Douglas 6-string fretless. A whole load of guitars, drums, keys and other stuff, but the poll says 'Bass types', so...

blue
I have a lot of cool basses, about 8, all 4 strings. My favs are probably my early 2000 MIJ Fender P 1950s reissues. Of course being a baby boomer I love my Gibson 1991 Thunderbird as well as my Gibson ES-335, and Gold Top Les Paul basses. Love my custom German made Hofner Club Bass with Cavern Club PU spacing. This weekend I'll gig my G&L 1991 ASAT bass ( Tele body style, active pre-amp ) I don't collect, I gig all of them. Cat Burrito
All 4 string basses and an upright. I have owned a resonator bass which I guess could come under others.
