chris_b Posted October 4, 2017 Posted October 4, 2017 (edited) I have 2 5 string basses, a P and a J. That's down from last Christmas when I had a P and 4 J's. I'm looking to upgrade the J but can't see me owning more than 2 basses at a time any more. My thoughts are; with the cash I had tied up in 4 good Jazz basses I could have bought 1 seriously good bass. So that's now the plan. Edited October 4, 2017 by chris_b Quote
dudewheresmybass Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) 3 five strings 1 fretless 1 acoustic 1 eub (ish- dean pace) 17 ish four strings iirc Mainly p type, different tunings, purposes/ tones Edited October 5, 2017 by dudewheresmybass Quote

Dood Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 Too many. I keep feeling that I shouldn’t have so many. Not that I have as many as most of you all. Quote
discreet Posted October 5, 2017 Posted October 5, 2017 (edited) Fretted 4 for me all the way. I dabbled with fives to see what it was all about, but though it was interesting, I don't need the extra notes and I don't need the extra weight. I especially didn't need the confusion of swapping from 4 to 5 and back again. I'm a simple soul, me... Never tried a fretless in anger, though. Who knows, I may be the next Jaco, right...? Right...? ribbetingfrog Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Just the one 4 string. All I need. If I ever get rich enough, then i’ll need many more. Quote
alyctes Posted October 7, 2017 Posted October 7, 2017 Far too many bass guitars, including a bizarre triple-neck with six strings (total). No, I don't know what it's for either. Also an Ashbory, and an upright I never play. Quote
