pbasspecial Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Can anyone confirm whether Tom Petty has died or not?
BassApprentice Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 In short. No. http://www.etonline.com/initial-tom-petty-death-reports-inaccurate-singer-remains-hospitalized-following-cardiac-arrest?amp
kevin_lindsay Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 Sadly, yes, he has passed away. Very sad news.
ambient Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017
Sadly, yes, he has passed away. Very sad news.
Not according to the Guardian.
pbasspecial Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 That's why I was confused. Reports said he died, then later ones are backtracking.
blue Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017
Sadly, yes, he has passed away. Very sad news.
I can't find one death confirmation. Blue
ambient Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 LAPD have apologised, according to the Guardian.
Hobbayne Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017
I can't find one death confirmation. Blue
Neither can I
pbasspecial Posted October 2, 2017 Author Posted October 2, 2017 I'm guessing that's good news considering the alternative.
Maude Posted October 2, 2017 Posted October 2, 2017 I really hope it isn't true, http://movieweb.com/tom-petty-dies-dead-66-years-old/
Andyjr1515 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 BBC radio 4 don't think he is as at 01.08 on 2nd Oct...
blisters on my fingers Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 What a loss, an all around good guy, fought for artists rights, had his own share of demons to deal with - and he did. 40 years of touring finished last week and then he could have spent more time with his granddaughter so many great songs so many of them celebrating true human spirit and defiance against the stuff life chucks at us all https://youtu.be/JMzW42zZVN0
bazzbass Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 CBS jumped the gun, not surprising as news organisations mainly get their 'news' from twitter bulletins these days. Not dead, but not likely to live either, very sad
bazzbass Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Sadly Tom HAS passed away. Oh man what a bad day http://www.tompetty.com/1950to2017
Conan Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 So sad to hear this. One of the true greats and regularly my Highway Companion. RIP Tom
beely Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 First saw Tom Petty many decades ago, opening for Nils Lofgren at The Edinburgh Playhouse. Loved his music ever since. Absolutely devastated by this. Our band set features several of his songs. RIP Tom, you were a massive inspiration.
KevB Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 I tried to get my mate to come with me to see him at Hyde Park (my mate was actually a bigger fan than me) but in the end we didn't go so now I'll never get the chance. Always seemed a good guy, very enjoyable documentary they showed years ago about him. Great songwriter and performer. Sadly missed.
Conan Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017
very enjoyable documentary they showed years ago about him.
Runnin' down a dream. It's available on Netflix. I am guessing that it will be a popular watch this week, but sadly for all the wrong reasons
Musicman20 Posted October 3, 2017 Posted October 3, 2017 Big shame, and a sad day and sad loss to music....
