I saw Lulu and her band last night

What a show. What a singer and my word, what a great band. The best gig I think I've ever been to.

Last heard Lulu on a Beatles/Lennon tribute show thing on the radio a few years back and she sang Don't Let Me Down live. Amazing. Good to hear that she's still going strong.

Still an underrated singer, perhaps even better now than when she was younger.

Years ago I saw her on TV doing a Bobby Bland song. Everyone covers BB songs from Joe Cocker down and this was one of the best versions I've heard.

Lulu is/was wasted on pop songs.

Lulu and her band played at an event I played at a few years ago. They were bloody superb, I felt like a massive fraud being the band having to follow them!

I think these days she puts on the Scottish accent. It doesn't sound very authentic.

She's a bit good, isn't she? She does (or did) a mean version of Duffy's 'Mercy'. I always liked that song, but hated the wimpy computerised compressed backing track. Saw Lulu doing it with a proper band and giving it the beans and it was fab'.

My wife suggested singing that at an open mic night so I quickly worked out the chords and we went for it. I'd forgotten what a great song it was.

Shout, is the opening number in our band. It's a real attention grabber and goes down well.
