Friday Pic competition - what the hell is this?

Ok, so a while back a friend donated what appears to be a Fendfer 4x10 cab to me because his wife said it was going in a skip if he didn't move it. One day he may want it back but for now it's mine. I've been using it for guitar but having recently taken up bass i'm wondering if I can use it as a cab with something like a little TC or ampeg Class D head instead of the Vox Pathfinder I'm currently using. Problem is, I haven't got a clue what it is. I posted on another thread the other day and the obvious answer was take the back off! So today, not being at work I got my tool box out to discover there doesn't appear to be any way to take the back off - the cab has been jointed and glued all way round (built like a tank I might add). I know, I thought. I'll just take a speaker out from the front. Ha! No labels on the speakers, no plate inside the cab, nothing. All there is is a little Fender sticker on the input moulding at the back. So I'm absolutely stumped. I've just powered it up with an old HH 100 guitar amp and put the bass through it and it works absolutely fine at low to medium volume but I wouldn't dared cranking it without knowing what it is. So, anyone recognise it from the photos and care to have a stab at the wattage/ohms? I'm, guessing Fender Frontman 4x10 if it's even a Fender.

i can't help much but i'd expect that being a 4x10 it's more likely to be a bass cab as 4x10 guitar cabs aren't that common.

the v-front design is quite distinctive but i can't find anything looking like it on google so i'm stumped!

ahh i think i might have a breakthrough, it looks like it might be a fender "the wedge" cabinet, there are a few hits on google that look the same but some confusion as to whether they're guitar or bass cabs and some of them are open backed and some sealed.

one post i was suggested late 80's, and fender have the pricelists archived on their website

https://support.fend...ists-1968-2010-

the 1989 lists have wedge cabs listed under the guitar section for pairing with the dual showman heads, available in 4x12 with either Celestion or un-named speakers and a 4x10 with eminence speakers (but with an open back)

not to question the OP but did you put a tape measure across the speakers, are they definitely 10" or did you just go on what you were told?

whatever the outcome i think that what you have is a guitar cab as i can't find a wedge bass cab listed on the fender price lists i looked at (although i didn't trawl through them all so cannot say 100% ) and if i'd just seen the pictures and not been told anything else i'd have thought it was the 4x12 with the un-named drivers.

Fender Performer Cab. 4 x 10. 150W Apparently.
The drivers are Eminence, produced in the 14th week of 1987. The only 4x10 Fender produced in 1987 was the BXR410 Bass. What you appear to have is a Dual Showman 'Wedge' 412 guitar cab.
