They're fine if going through IEMs or straight to desk but if you have any significant bass level coming from backline (or if your playing position happens to be anywhere near a PA cab/monitor) then it's a feedback nightmare. To be fair though, I've used my acoustic on touring actor-musician theatre shows with great success - largely due to being able to DI straight to the PA and having sound guys who knew what they were doing.
