bassist_lewis
The saddle for the g string on my bass is constantly lowering on one side, I'm able to re-set it each time but I think the tiny screw needs replaced. does anyone know where you can buy tiny - like 1-1.5mm - threaded rods that can be adjusted with an alan key? Its a hipshot vintage 5 string bridge if that helps. Edited October 19, 2017 by bassist_lewis
dyerseve
are you able to take a photo of the screw and measure it with a digital caliper please? If so then we will be better able to advise you on where you can get a replacement. or chances are I have one in my spares drawer and can send it to you FOC. discreet
Try some medium-strength threadlocker, such as Loctite 243. It will stop the screw from vibrating loose but can still be adjusted as necessary. I've used it on all my vintage-style bridge saddle grub screws, works a treat. The bass is currently with a technician being worked on so I can't send pics but will look in to the threadlocker stuff L Edited October 20, 2017 by bassist_lewis
