lojo
To put round wounds on and with a pickup like a SD Quarter Pound. Not actually sure how much that pickup differs from the pickup in the 50s - rounds are the main reason I want another P.
I get it I've got a p bass with really old flats on and it sounds amazing , but I can't use it for hardly any gigs

Steve Browning
Look seriously at a Japanese Fender. Go for the US version (it will have US in the model number). Ishibashi is a Japanese shop that has a huge range of s/h P-basses. You can buy with confidence from them and Japanese basses are excellent quality. BigRedX
Was looking on Reverb for used Americans - seem to be around a grand though, a bit OTT for second-hand in my opinion. Came across this - will this give a good aggressive P tone?
Probably. It will depend on how much the body mass (and construction) of that body against a standard P-bass body affects the tone.
