Sounds fantastic, but weighs almost 30KGs. Is there any way I can drop one of the drivers into an off-the-shelf empty cab to make something that sounds OK which I can leave in the rehearsal room? PLEASE don't get technical!! Just let me know if a suitable cab exists and where I can get one. How about one of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/i/302434801366?chn=ps&dispItem=1&adgroupid=47558299615&rlsatarget=pla-370974490202&abcId=1128936&adtype=pla&merchantid=7308454&poi=&googleloc=9046436&device=c&campaignid=857337246&crdt=0 Thanks, Steve Edited October 23, 2017 by solo4652
stevie
Not that one. It's a guitar cab with an open back and isn't designed to reproduce bass frequencies. Looks smart and is a good price though. The maker might have something similar for bass. You could always ask. The cab and driver is still going to weigh 10kgs. solo4652
OK - thanks. Further reading suggests that an open-back guitar cab isn't going to work. Plan B is to buy an old bass combo with a 10 driver and transplant one of the Eminence Delta 10b's into it. Remove the old amp, obviously! For example, just seen a good used Ashdown Perfect 10 30w combo for £45 - how about that? Edited October 23, 2017 by solo4652
BassBunny
Steve, why not just leave the GK at the rehearsal room? Once you take one of the speakers out it becomes useless anyway.
Phil Starr
What the hell is the cab made of? The two speakers are quite heavy at 5kg each but that leaves a 20kg cab??? I'd suggest a simple cab build yourself if those figures check out. You could build it out of 12- 18mm ply the same size as the GK and it would probably weigh in 5-10kg depending upon the exact ply you used and how much bracing you put in. If you go onto the eminence website they have designs for the Delta's if you wanted to build a 1x10 or two http://www.eminence.com/pdf/Delta_10A_cab.pdf
stevie
Silverfoxnik was selling a couple of relatively lightweight JBL cabs which would work well with these. The cutouts are for a 12" driver, but your tens would work fine if you were to cut a simple circular sub-baffle for them. Then you'd have the choice of one cab or two. http://basschat.co.uk/topic/300635-fs-two-jbl-4646a-12-speaker-cabs-unloaded-l25-each-ono-pp/page__p__3373633__hl__jbl__fromsearch__1#entry3373633

I'm going to see if I can wrestle the GK 210 along to the rehearsal room, taking in cars, stairs, long corridors en route. I'm hoping band mates will help. Once it's there, I'll leave it. See how it goes.
lemmywinks
I have an empty BFM Omni 10.5 knocking around, not sure if the Delta is compatible, I know Deltalites and Basslites work well as that's what I've had in it previously. Great cab and pretty light though.
