Hi there !
Finaly decided to activate myself here šŸ¤—
My name is Damir Iā€™ve
started to play bass long time a go , and still trying šŸ˜„
Iā€™am also play ā€œberde ā€œ - bass tambura, our national instrument - look a Like double bass but with freeted neck , that comes on body strait above , not like on doublebass on angle ( if you reed me ) and we play it with a huge 3 inch pick ! ( there some pitures to see what is it all about )
Changed a ton of basses : from old Fenderā€™s p and j to MM Stingray , Fujigen , Neuser , Tobias , Lakland , Maruszczyk etc šŸ˜„ . Currently have Flea signature jb
So , it is nice to be here !

Welcome Damir.

It is interesting to hear about and see the bass tambura. I wasn't aware of it before but it sounds interesting. Although I play fretless electric bass sometimes I find double bass hard to intonate. Maybe the bass tambura would help in training to play uprights where it is needed most, up to the 12th fret.

What does a three inch plectrum look like and how do you hold it?

Thanks guys !
@spondonbassed
Berde have Huge string tension so it is very hard to play it ā€ single ā€œ fingeredā€ as double bass and basguitar we usualy use combination index finger solo , than 1+ 2 , 2+3 or 3+4th finger
Some Oberkainer musician use freeted doublebass it coud be intresting to try !
There Are some pictures of plectrums and picks that I use - some Made from plastic , leather , and sandwich - leathe- plastic- leather .
So I You want to know anything alse , fell free to ask šŸ‘
