T-Bay Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 I picked up a GP11 recently but it doesn’t have the power rating anywhere on it, I think they did 150 and 250w versions, is there an easy way to determine which it is? Quote
thodrik Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 It should have an rms rating at the back. Most amps had a specific model number which should give an indication of power rating. Quote
T-Bay Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 The GP11 has an area on the back for the power rating to be hand written in by the factory, sadly all the writing has long since faded hence the question. Quote
P-ZARN Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 GP11 refers to the preamp which was used in different TE amplifiers such as the AH250 and AH500 plus others !!! A photo of the front and back would help Quote
T-Bay Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Too dark tonight to get a pic of the back where it’s stored, front below: Quote
T-Bay Posted November 6, 2017 Author Posted November 6, 2017 Top one obviously, I think it can only be a 150w as on first fiddle it’s nowhere near as loud as my 250w gp7. Quote
P-ZARN Posted November 6, 2017 Posted November 6, 2017 Looks like the AH150 so almost certainly 150W Quote
VTypeV4 Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017
Looks like the AH150 so almost certainly 150W
Almost certainly, the 250w / 350w (MK5 only?) and 500w models were the slightly larger (3u) box and had the UV strip light too.. RandomBass Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Yeah I'd go with 150w too. Nice find, looks in great condition. Perfect colour coded guitar lead too 😎 Cheers Geoff Quote
T-Bay Posted November 7, 2017 Author Posted November 7, 2017 Thanks guys, nice to have confirmation of what I thought. It’s a little cracker and turned up only a few miles from me. Only issue is an intermittent noisy fan (a few seconds after you turn it off) so I will check that out but otherwise I have a nice practice/ small venue amp for very little money. Quote
Dan Dare Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 Fan should be any easy/cheap replacement for your repair man. Looks a nice little amp and in good shape. Good find. Quote
MOSCOWBASS Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017 I had a series 6 gp11 4x10 combo and it was 200 watts.......a very loud 200 watts Quote
Treb Posted November 7, 2017 Posted November 7, 2017
... it was 200 watts
And weighed in at 200 kg give or take a few kg... Quote

johnDeereJack Posted November 8, 2017 Posted November 8, 2017 From the picture it's definitely a GP11 MK IV. No visible housing for the black light which would indicate the AH150. Quote
T-Bay Posted November 8, 2017 Author Posted November 8, 2017 I had a chance to stretch its legs a bit tonight and it’s certainly good enough for a small pub where space is a bit limited, which is useful as we have just a booking in for exactly such in January. Quote
