pickup covers

does anyone know where i can purchase a gold pickup cover for a mex 50.s classic precision
all the ones listed on ebay are too small it needs to be approx 55mm wide to cover the pickups
all the ones i can find are 51.5mm they just dont fit properly.

Have you tried a genuine Fender part? Most eBay sellers, in my experience, don't offer genuine Fender parts, but PRC made copies and they are often smaller, made of thinner materials and generally inferior. Google should find genuine Fender spares.

Or get a standard black or white set and spray them gold, if you lacquer them afterwards they should last nicely, I sprayed a black set white many years ago (pre Ebay days) and they were still fine when I sold the bass about 3 years later

its the metal cover that covers both pickups on certain models.
