Al Krow
So you are thinking about your current set up and personal bass or wider band needs and realise: 'Ugh!! If only I hadn't moved such and such on, that would be really just the ticket right now!' For me it's two things this year: My Yamaha BB425 traded for an Ibby SR1206. Totally love the Ibby, but should have kept the Yammy! My Promethean 3110 300w bass combo. So portable and, as well as a doddle to take to rehearsals, would be just the ticket in terms of providing a powerful little stage monitor easily able to cope with the lows. Zoom MS-60B multi-fx. Moved it on before I got close to realising what an amazing little multi-fx pedal this was and making full use of it. And then Zoom went and released their free firmware 2.0 update increasing the number of effect sims from 58 to 142!! Well I've just got myself a replacement What would your 'I wished I hadn't moved that on' bits of gear be? grandad
To much to list but I too should have kept the Zoom, a B3, and played around with it a bit more.
Spike Vincent
Selling a Selmer Zodiac 100w valve amp to get an H +H VS Musician was not the best move.

chevy-stu
swapped a 1971 marshall superbass 100 for a boss bass synth pedal about 18 years ago...
Barking Spiders
Not a bass but I did sell a white American Tele two about half a dozen years ago, which I now deeply regret.
Bigwan
Ashdown LB30, and a CTM30... Orange Terror Bass 500, 3 times... Tech Soundsystems 4x12. Best bass cab I've owned, lightweight but BIG. My knuckles thank me every day though... An abused '83 Squier SQ P bass. One of the best P basses I've owned. Bought for buttons too... '83 Wal Mk1. Not really my thing, but it'd be worth a fortune now! Line 6 Studio 110. Great little thing to have around the house.
Rich
A beautiful Sei Flamboyant 5. I struggled with setting it up and decided that I'd sell it, when what I should have done was take it to someone who knew what the hell they were doing. grandad
My D-Bass 115, light-weight & castors, lovely tone, reliable Roland quality, Why did I move it on - to much kit at the time, space, because the next bit of kit was going to cure my GAS to-be-sure! mikel
My 1972 Gibson SG with P90 pups. I could never get the intonation right so I got a pro setup so I could sell it. It was perfect then. Doh.
machinehead
A WAL Mk 1 fretless, passed on for £200 back about 1990. If only I'd known... Frank.
kendall
My 1980s Aria SB 700. Never found a bass that had the mojo this bad boy had. Many gigs worth of sweat, beer and fag smoke ingrained in it. It also had a Powell & Peralta Rat Bones (skateboard company) sticker on it. I Sold it when I decided my shot at rock stardom was over in 1989, and I used the money to buy a suit and get my hair cut short. Pains me to this day. Bigwan
Oh and the tecamp puma 2x12 combo I had for a while. Best combo in the world ever. And the local guy I sold it to won't sell it back...

Al Krow
Some great stories, I'm loving it. Keep them coming! Clearly lots of Wal regret from folk of who have sold them on and what is it about Zoom multi-fxs that make them so under-rated?!
Oh and the tecamp puma 2x12 combo I had for a while. Best combo in the world ever. And the local guy I sold it to won't sell it back...
You do realise there is one in the FS section (albeit as two separate 1x12s, which should in theory be just as good?). My mate, Osiris, has a 2x12 Tecamp cab he plays his Magellan through and it's just divine... Edited November 7, 2017 by Al Krow

Although that's neither here nor there really. As an all in one gigging combo the Puma 212 is unbeatable IMHO. Edit: Eich still make something similar, but I don't have twelve hundred quid just at the minute! Edited November 7, 2017 by Bigwan
TheGreek
Many, many things.....in particular a green (always looks blue in photos) Status Kingbass, now in the hands of Snook, who won't sell it back to me. I've managed to re-acquire my Overwater Jazz Custom which i should never have parted with...
bassbiscuits
My lightly reliced Sandberg California TT4. I couldn't get it to sound like I wanted, and ended up trading it in for a jazz bass which i later sold anyway. But listening back to a few snippets i recorded it sounds lovely, and probably would have just benefited from some different pickups etc. The rest of the bass was lovely. I've kept an eye out for it but it hasn't come back up for sale again. Bummer.
Pow_22
Cherry red Epiphone Rivoli (now lives with the bassist from The Sea Pinks) Vintage Sound City 200 (a mark 3 ones not one of the crap mark 4's) - now lives at Skyhammer Studios
Dan Dare
My maroon 1975 Telecaster Custom, black scratchplate, maple neck. The Keef model. Sold in a fit of poverty 20 years back. Got a good price, but that's not the point.

gjones
My Geddy Lee MIJ Jazz Bass. I always thought the neck was too slim and it sounded too twangy but in retrospect it was a dumb thing to sell it, as it was a beautiful and very well made bass I will probably buy another and fit a J Retro in it. casapete
A nice Squier JV 57 Precision, black with a maple neck. Bought cheap, sold for a little more, now worth a lot! Also my 70's Ampeg SVT rig. The best thing I've ever used, sold it too cheap to a guy who drove up to Yorkshire from darn sarf in an old Escort van to collect it - he got a brilliant set up at a cracking price. Still miss it.
