Gunsfreddy2003 Posted November 10, 2017 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Hello, I'm after some suggestions on cases (hard or flight really) to put gear in. I have some bits of equipment which cost a lot and I need to protect when I take out to gigs but neither have a hard case option from the manufacturer which is annoying. Anyone got tips or advice on what can be used in this situation? I've looked at custom flight cases but that's a really expensive route. I'm sure I've heard before about people using camera equipment cases which are provabsbky more economical. Any ideas or suggestions welcome. Lozz196 Posted November 10, 2017 Share Posted November 10, 2017 (edited) For instruments, Hiscox cases. For (small) amp heads/pedals etc I use Boschma cases from Flightcase Warehouse. Not much is going to wreck any item stored in either of these. dand666 Posted November 10, 2017 Share Posted November 10, 2017 Pelco for gear/accessories I've got a bass flight case which I wanna sell- although the foam is cut out for a P-bass. Dan Dare Posted November 13, 2017 Share Posted November 13, 2017 A big flight or rack case looks good and protects your kit, but can be a sod to move around, get up and down stairs, etc. At my advancing age, I've separated my kit into smaller cases - several lightweight rack cases rather than one big one, etc. More trips, but easier on the back. The Trifibre cases Russ has put up are fine and dandy for anything apart from going in the back or vans with lots of proper flightcases. mike257 Posted November 14, 2017 Share Posted November 14, 2017 The Trifibre Challenger series cases that EBS linked to are great. They're budget clones of Pelican cases, which are the dogs danglies, but I tour two Challenger cases that spend most of their lives rattling around splitter vans and bouncing off flightcased and they're rock solid. The 5015 model and larger ones come with wheels and a pull-out handle, and can be ordered with ready perforated pick'n'pluck foam to make a custom insert with, very handy indeed.
