clivem
How when I make a post with the new editor, do I put it into "raw" mode so I can see the tags or type them directly. ie. without it being in preview mode? I can't seem to find a way to do it.
clivem
Does anyone know how to do this, so you can see the actual tags, rather than in preview mode????????? Maybe it isn't possible at all? (Unlikely, I would think as that would make it the dumbest forum software in the known universe! )
BigRedX
I'd like to be able to see the raw code for my posts too. It makes doing some things much easier, and helps avoid copying over styling when you cut and paste text from another web site.
charic
I'm not sure there is a RAW mode anymore, I can't even see it for me!

clivem
The only way to do this is if you enable the 'Source' editing mode for users, which allows them to edit the HTML that forms a post. However, this is strongly discouraged for anyone but administrators, because it can lead to security issues.

If that is the case, that's disappointing, especially since I raised the issue on the site migration thread (from the old forum) and was assured that the new editor would be even better than the old one. So if I type a post where my BB tags are technically correct but don't give the result I was hoping for how can I edit them so that they do? I know that now most software is so fully featured the only way the writers can justify upgrades is to make it easier to use for the technologically challenged, but it would be nice if the "power user" features could be retained. Besides IMO if someone really wants to be able to use a feature, they really ought to take the time to learn how to make it work for them.
