. . . . I've not played that but Al Martino's version of Spanish Eyes was a particular difficult 4 mins.

I can sympathise.

Many years ago I used to dep for local band when their bass player was on holiday. I often recall it as my "summer job".

I also recall the utter, utter humiliation of having to play Engelbert Humperdink's "Ten Guitars".

I'm still reminded of it to this day.

This is easy, for two reasons.

Reason 1 - The Birdies Song (Portsmouth Radical Club 24/12/1978)

Reason 2 (same night) - a member of the audience (dancing to the same number) died on the dance floor.

Over to you, everyone! :-)

Might as well lock the thread now. :)

I’ve taken a dep in a couple of weeks, which will involve me playing ‘Quando, Quando , Quando’ in a social club.

30 years of graft for this. Shoot me now. :-D

We all reach a peak at some point......

We do Shang-a-lang (Bay City Rollers) for which I am obliged to activate my taste bypass pedal.  Trouble is it normally goes down a storm at the end of an evening.

It's quite a nadir I admit.

Who knows, maybe Blue has been involved in a gunfight during Freebird?

Blue hasn't posted since just before the site went down for the upgrade.

I fear we may have to send out a search party.

Or maybe he's been busy with that gunfight.

Does the gunfight involve railguns? There seems to be a lot of that going around at the mo.

I think he's popped up on another thread under the name "Bluewine." Not sure what's prompted him to set up a new account, but he still signs off as "Blue" on his posts, so we know it's him!

Maybe he had some kind of problem when the new site went live..? There have certainly been some... issues. :)

Ah.

The place wouldn't be the same without him.

The working mans social club gig.   We pretend we do not know it. It waits patiently. It knows we will come. Eventually. And it claims us in the end.  The shame. The despair.   xD  I've done a few of these now over the last 5 years. Not really the scene  I imagined when buying my first bass at 14 ..
