wateroftyne Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 I’ve taken a dep in a couple of weeks, which will involve me playing ‘Quando, Quando , Quando’ in a social club. 30 years of graft for this. Shoot me now. :-D 3 1 Quote
chris_b Posted November 13, 2017 Posted November 13, 2017 (edited) . . . . I've not played that but Al Martino's version of Spanish Eyes was a particular difficult 4 mins. Edited November 13, 2017 by chris_b 1 Quote
beely Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 I can sympathise. Many years ago I used to dep for local band when their bass player was on holiday. I often recall it as my "summer job". I also recall the utter, utter humiliation of having to play Engelbert Humperdink's "Ten Guitars". I'm still reminded of it to this day. Quote
Steve Browning Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 This is easy, for two reasons. Reason 1 - The Birdies Song (Portsmouth Radical Club 24/12/1978) Reason 2 (same night) - a member of the audience (dancing to the same number) died on the dance floor. Over to you, everyone! :-) 3 Quote

Steve Browning Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 Oh I don't know. I'm keen to read the post that can top that though (no pun intended!!). I'm sure someone can. Maybe Joe Dolce is a lurker! Quote

Steve Browning Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 (edited) It's quite a nadir I admit. Who knows, maybe Blue has been involved in a gunfight during Freebird? Edited November 14, 2017 by Steve Browning Additional information. 1 Quote

ead Posted November 14, 2017 Posted November 14, 2017 We do Shang-a-lang (Bay City Rollers) for which I am obliged to activate my taste bypass pedal. Trouble is it normally goes down a storm at the end of an evening. Quote

Blue hasn't posted since just before the site went down for the upgrade. I fear we may have to send out a search party. Or maybe he's been busy with that gunfight. Quote

Not sure what's prompted him to set up a new account, but he still signs off as "Blue" on his posts, so we know it's him! Quote

I've done a few of these now over the last 5 years. Not really the scene I imagined when buying my first bass at 14 .. Edited November 14, 2017 by bassjim Quote
