TheGreek Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 If you know what you're doing it could be a steal... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MesaEngineering-M-Pulse-Walkabout-Bass-Head-Spares-or-Repairs/253260935977?hash=item3af7873329:g:hdYAAOSwnTdaDIkj Quote
JapanAxe Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Then again, you'd have to go to Wolverhampton to collect it... Quote
T-Bay Posted November 16, 2017 Posted November 16, 2017 Which component though? Could be a bargain or scrapper. How much will someone punt on it to find out I wonder. Quote
BigRedX Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 If previous amps like this are anything to go by, it will hardly be a bargain by the time the auction ends. Quote
dyerseve Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 yeah replacing the burnt out component is never a guarantee of anything as you have to be sure WHY the component failed and did it harm anything downstream of it Quote

Bigwan Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I went to £35 quid because I'm a tight-wad. It might be a 20p fix, or a £300 fix. Might be good for spares as buying from Mesa is no longer financially viable IMO Quote

TheGreek Posted November 22, 2017 Author Posted November 22, 2017 Sold for £176 - for a broken amp which requires a replacement circuit board...so just how much is the replacement part? Quote
T-Bay Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Could be 50p could be stupid money, someone has taken one hell of a punt. Quote
Shaggy Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 Had my eye on this, with a view to swapping out the transformer into my US-spec Walkabout to convert it to UK voltage (currently using a step down transformer which kind of defeats the point of an ultra portable head) - but no way for that kind of money, and maybe just as well as I'd have probably ended up with 2 dud amps instead of one bulky but working one...... I only just saw this but thought the same - the transformer on my one has blown so the spare could be useful. BUT the repair guy I took mine too today said if the amplifier board has gone mesa send the whole board, FETs heatsink and all rather than replace one or two parts. (if mine has gone as well and the tranny then It will probably be uneconomical for me to repair) Quote
