iain_psb Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Been looking for a backup bass with a maple board and stumbled upon a modified Chris Aiken Squier on eBay. Looks decent, accidentally won it, think I’m happy! Should I be? I have no idea! Anyone got one? Any opinions? Anyway, here it is... http://r.ebay.com/4WBUpC 1 Quote
TheGreek Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Nice Bass...you could have had worse accidents... Quote
karlfer Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 You only won it cos I forgot to bid Cracking bass and I've bought off him at least twice before. Enjoy. Quote
Tonteee Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Nice bass, well done. I have to wonder though, how does one 'accidentally' bid that kind of money...? Quote
Dazed Posted November 17, 2017 Posted November 17, 2017 Another timeless classic excuse from every bass hoarders essential book Reasons For Another Bass. It's ok this is a safe zone. Nice work Quote
Pea Turgh Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 Ha! The title made me chuckle... it’s a familiar theme for me. I love that bass - I probably would have “accidentally” bid on that if i’d seen it! You say Squire yet the headstock decal disguised that fact? Anyhoo - congrats on a good purchase. Quote
slinky70 Posted November 19, 2017 Posted November 19, 2017 you won't be disappointed this used to be mine before I sold it to bluebass, he's done the modifications to it & I had a play with it last week before he listed it on ebay...very nice bass for the money... Quote
iain_psb Posted November 19, 2017 Author Posted November 19, 2017 Cheers for the comments all. Really looking forward to getting it! Had a genuine need for a backup bass due to playing in two tunings and the thought of only having two basses with me was slightly terrifying. Just didn’t expect to win it for what I paid. Now I need a decent gig bag for it. Another wanted ad coming up... Quote
mikebass456 Posted November 22, 2017 Posted November 22, 2017 I did a similar thing recently with a white Matt Freeman Squier Precision f ebay. It's a stunning bass, completely unmarked and fortunately came with a hard case. It's been gigged several times now, sometimes with my ricky 4003 on the reserves bench! Well done on a great purchase, hope u enjoy it as much as I do mine? Quote
LewisK1975 Posted November 23, 2017 Posted November 23, 2017 That's really rather nice. Well done. Quote
iain_psb Posted November 23, 2017 Author Posted November 23, 2017 Got it on Tuesday and it’s an absolute cracker. Definitely not disappointed! Gigging in Scotland this weekend so she’s coming with me! Quote

SICbass Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 Just accidentally bought a new bass... oh, don’t you just hate it when that happens..... Quote
Andyjr1515 Posted November 25, 2017 Posted November 25, 2017 I think Squier basses are great. Well done Quote
bazzbass Posted December 2, 2017 Posted December 2, 2017 The equation to scientifically determine the optimal number of basses to own is clearly set out in the following equation: B= N + 1 where B is the optimal number of basses to own N is the actual number of basses currently owned Quote
