alyctes Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Looks as if the body bouts are easily changed? Not much use if you haven't got anything to replace them with, but... https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RKS-5-String-Bass-A-Thing-of-Beauty/172988792662?hash=item2846ef7f56:g:zggAAOSw43haEbMG Quote
dyerseve Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 a solution to a problem that doesnt exist... Hooray! Quote
TheGreek Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I'm not convinced it is "a thing of beauty".. Quote
Bassassin Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Think I've seen guitars like this before, but not a bass. I quite like weird but this wouldn't get on my list. Quote
Hellzero Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 My jazz guitar (as a Wes Montgomery fan, I own one Ibanez Jazz Idontknowwhatmodelitis that I hardly play) has the same principle for the volume and tone of the Benedetto floating pickup and it's not THAT easy to use at all... Quote
BigRedX Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 Unfortunately extremely overpriced. A few years ago you could pick up a brand new one for about half the current asking price. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted November 20, 2017 Posted November 20, 2017 I had one of these many years ago, in red. This actual one was for sale a few months ago on eBay. Don't know if its the same seller or someone who bought it and is seeking to make a fast buck? They were nice to play as no visible controls and quite ergonomically designed. The body bouts however do not detach from what I recall. Quote
tauzero Posted November 24, 2017 Posted November 24, 2017 I thought the neck and inner body slotted into the outer body in some way and could be removed and put into a different body. The page about the guitars on the otherwise rather odd RKS website Quote
