Machine heads

Just having a nose around at machine heads. 99.9%seem to be either cloverleaf or Grover type and the rest cheap Chinese types (along with the cheap chines copies of the other two types obviously).. Surely there must be loads and loads of different designs bit I can’t seem to find them.

Clover, lollipop, Y shape are the most common I think, Sperzel do some slightly different ones. Don't know why choice for bass tuners is so limited compared to guitars.

Me neither, Schaller seem to do some interesting takes on the mechanism but but the heads are the same.
