I've played the bass guitar on and off for many years now (I'm a self-taught), but recently decided to pick up the double bass. I want to gain a different perspective on music and also make up for the things I missed when learning the bass the first time.

Going fretless is such a struggle, it feels like walking in the dark, but the sound and the very character of the DB are so satisfying, smooth and so organic. Having mostly played heavy metal, these are all uncharted waters to me.

Please, don't hesitate to write your remarks about anything that comes into your head. I want to develop far beyond my current musical levels and honest feedback is the best way to help me!
