fretmeister
I wanted a set of flats for my P-Ray. But as the Thomastik JF345 set seems to have gone up in price stupidly I've decided to try the La Bella low tension set. Doesn't seem to be much chat on here about them, so I'll just have to wait and see for when they arrive. fingers crossed that I like them! andytoad
I have some on my Warwick SS2 at the moment, they have just the right tension for me, I usually have steels, so the flats were a nice change. i reccomend them and am more than happy with them. 3below
Review please, they are also of interest to me
fretmeister
I like them! the D string is a bit short, only got 1.5 wraps round the post on my Ray5 but it seems stable. Tone is similar to TI Flats but they are far less floppy. Looking forward to see how they mellow out like the TI Flats.
3below
Sounds (excuse pun) promising. I like TI flats and have them on most of my basses except my 5 striinger where they seem too floppy, these might be the answere.
The59Sound
See, I only thought they were slightly higher tension than TIs. They have more of that classic La Bella sound going on - i.e. what a flat should sound like. They're super smooth and a dream to play. Think I only took mine off because I needed rounds or just wanted that SS punch again.
kodiakblair
My La Bella LT's arrived this morning Nice strings, feel about the same as TIs. The TIs have at least a 3 year head start so only time will tell how the LTs settle in. Not a bad set of strings and a decent price too. fretmeister
I used them for rehearsal this morning. Lovely tone. Sat in the mix really well. Did Stevie Wonder, Mickey Bubbles, Blues Brothers, Louis Armstrong, and some Latin stuff. I went for a bit of a Duck Dunn tone. Not too bassy, plenty of mids and knocked the treble off on the bass. Very happy. They’ll be staying on my P-Ray.
