Also it was combined with my budding interest in luthery, as in I was going to sand it a bit and oil it, but none of it went anywhere and this bass is as it is as it arrived from the States. Bloodwood body, Maple and Purpleheart (I think) neck, with a Persimmon board, Kent Armstrong Pup and not much else. Yes, no truss-rod, but solid as fook. You can either get on playing the thing and enjoy the tone, or refin it, and if you have a look on 'tinterweb folk have done some pretty lovely things with these.
