MarshallBTB Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 Hey, was wondering if someone could give me some advice. I need to file down a fret, i have a long dent on the 13th fret (unlucky ) and getting a lot of buzz on the e and a strings. Is it ok to go ahead and do it my self, and do i file the whole fret? Any advice would be good! thanks. Quote
The Burpster Posted November 12, 2008 Posted November 12, 2008 You can but you'll just move the problem up a fret..... Ideally you need to level all the frets, and re profile them. It aint rocket science but you do kinda need to know what you're doing. If you're up to it then get Dan Erlewines book and make sure you know exactly what your doing then preferably try your skills& tools out on an old junker neck first.... I can help but only from a distance..... Quote
