Hartke cooling fan

Anybody know if the fan on my Hydrive 115c 250 watt combo should come on straight away or does it kick in at a certain temperature? My 3500 head comes on straight off but that's 350 watts.

If it's thermistor controlled it will come on at a set heatsink temperature. The amp power has nothing to do with it, there are 100 watt amps that need a fan, there are 1000 watt amps that don't. The advantage to a fan is that it allows smaller heatsinks.

Ah, I'll have a feel next rehearsal and see if it comes on any time. Gigged last Saturday with no problem and it was warm compared with my old fan-less Ampeg combo which you could fry an egg on.
