This bass has been within the BC community for quite some time. I bought it for £4000 and am looking for what I paid (an extra £100 if you want the Hiscox case to go with the OHSC).

Gorgeous bass, fully set-up (with flats) and original bar the quality refin. Selling as I'm not playing it and I'd rather put the money into an acoustic guitar.

The advert I bought it from is here:

Oh man, not again!! Luckily I'm in no position whatsoever to think about this lol
I almost bought this around 8 years ago, tried it in person etc........it's really really great!

It is a body refin by Joe White but it has been worked around the original wear and 'damage' on the bass, so it's about as authentic a refin as you'll ever get!

Have you got any more info on what’s original?  I know it’s a (very nice) refin paint job, and you mentioned that 3 frets had been replaced, but has anything else been replaced?  Pickguard, pups, pots, wiring etc?

Also, do you know the story behind the crack near the headstock?  I’m assuming that it’s a long standing thing and is rock solid but wanted to check.

Having a real hard think about this, so I’d appreciate any more info (the original sales thread refers to another thread with all the details in, but I couldn’t find that one).

Thanks.

I'll get some pics of the innards up tonight. Body is dated, pots, etc. Neck has no pencil mark- Fender didnt date any necks in the first part of 59 apparently. Neck is solid. Old and apparently common issue. Had it all set up and checked recently by Martyn Booth.
