fleabag
PS after eading some EUB archives here, i need to go for 4/4 Spiros as 3/4 does not fit
Hellzero
Yes, had the big version EU with magnetic pickups a long time ago. Putting T.I. Spirocore on it will dramatically improve the sound, but I'm quite sure you'll have to put 3/4 on it. My actual Leduc 6 strings EUB has a regular 3/4 scale and it's a 105 cm or 41,34 inches scale (yours is 106 cm or 41,73 inches, so the same). I think you better ask Ned Steinberger directly to be sure about the type of real acoustic strings you can put on it as the money involved here is not a few quids... Hellzero
It's this one designed to use both types of strings NS Design or regular acoustic ones : http://leduc.fr/index.php/series-l/basses-de-la-serie-l/164-l-09-la-u-contrebasse-moai
fleabag
Yeah the price of strings is outrageous. I shot an email to Bob Gollihur in the US, and he confirmed that if fitting Spiros to an NS, i need the S42 set which is 4/4 But i've decided against that now, as i was advised to go with strings designed for the NS NXT, which are the NS Contemparies , made by D'addario, ironically enough. Again, expensive, till i found the last set on Amazon for £80 - and snapped 'em up Once fitted i'll be slinging the current thumpers in the FS forum Good link too
