wateroftyne Posted December 25, 2017 Posted December 25, 2017 I'm glad someone else doesn't rate the Zeppelin clip - it made my toes curl. Great musicians, but.. doused in saccharine. Quote

And of course Robert Plant HATES that song! He may hate it but it’s made him plenty of money. I would certainly place that song above anything he is currently putting out, loads of Zep purists must be cringing at his recent projects. Edited December 25, 2017 by steantval Quote
Chris2112 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Sting should be forced to listen to rubbish like this for eternity, for all the awful tunes he has inflicted on us. 1 Quote

12stringbassist Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Fairly dreadful. It must be really awkward to have someone play one of your songs at you at some event and to have a TV camera catching your every visible reaction as the song drags along. There's the odd second where Sting looks a bit taken aback at what is going on, on that stage. Jose Feliciano should have known better than to maul that song. Quote
Chris2112 Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 It reminds me of when Metallica were entered into the rock hall of fame (or wherever) and had to watch a load of dire covers of their material. Avril Lavigne covering 'fuel' just abhorrent. Lars Ulrich seemed desperate to convince himself he was into it but it really was awful. Quote
Zummerbass Posted December 26, 2017 Posted December 26, 2017 Truly grim. On the other hand Annie Lennox was pure magic, and yes Sting did look quite emotional. I love Basschat, steering me from music ridiculous to sublime. Quote
