Prime_BASS
For anyone interested, there is one for sale to the US market eBay with its location in Japan, haven't had a good look at pictures myself though. I want to go have a look but I'm on the lookout for a sterling with mutes and maple board.
alyctes
Probably just a sticker, but isn't this exactly where you'd expect to find wear from the forearm? Worth asking him for another pic, if you're really interested, IMO.
TheGreek
Now at £525 - IMO if he would courier this it would have sold ages ago....
John T
Yeah, noticed he'd reduced the price.

Asked the wife if I could borrow £200 and she said “not for a bass just after Christmas love” and I said ok... and it’s a stingray which means I’d only sell it. Would you consider acting as the middle man and arranging a courier for a fee?

TheGreek
Team work folks!! Following correspondence with Andy and the seller I managed to pick this up at the £525 price. Andy's agreed to pick it up tomorrow once he's agreed a time with the seller. Bit of a steal? So much for downsizing, eh.. 2
MrTea
Well played. Look forward to hearing about it once you have it.
AndyTravis
well it’s safely with me after a hilarious handover. Serial number is on the bridge...as I suspected (down there for dancing) It’s lovely, I’m sure Mick will be made up. Feels just as good as the mid 90’s stingray I used to own, but it’s 3eq! 9.4lbs too, so not bad. It does come with the worst guitar strap ever like... leaving me on Monday
TheGreek
Good man Andy... Going to do some research to see what I can find out. There isn't too much on t'net but I know a man who may know...

mcnach
Brilliant! I laughed when I saw the serial number... the seller didn't look very hard, eh?

It’s ok, he phoned me 30 minutes after we agreed to meet (he did text to say he’d be late) and said “I’m here, where are you?!” He was in the wrong car park. So I’m not shocked it eluded him.

stingrayPete1977
That's really nice! I think I've worked out the mystery with the bridges, that's a Flea bridge but with the mute kit fitted that the Flea just had bolts to blank off the holes. Look how the strings exit straight from the saddles rather than kicking off to the side, great purchase.
stingrayPete1977
http://www.musicmanbass.org/mycustompage0061.htm Defo a 90s bridge complete with Flea saddles and serial number and the ernie ball era mute kit with the smaller thumb screws, I bet that bridge alone is worth a few quid. AndyTravis
really is a special one this, sounds great. Plays well - strings are in need of a change. And the battery needed swapping out. But it’s good.
