JuliusGroove
Hi Guys, Just wondering if anybody has anybody has any books they can recommend that discuss harmony? Not looking for "study books" as such, more something to read on the train that talks about harmony, if I'm making any sense at all.. Any books that people benefited from that aren't direct educational books such as the Mark Levine Theory book would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! ambient
There are a few here about harmony. Mostly these have been on various reading lists at university.

TKenrick
Not explicitly about harmony, but a well-written book that isn't really a conventional 'study method' is 'Primacy of The Ear' by Ran Blake, quite different from most books on ear training (I wrote about it in more depth here).

Steve Woodcock
I'm a fan of Bert Ligon's books, I prefer his Jazz Theory Resources over the Mark Levine book.
