By entering the competition you agree to the Basschat Terms and Conditions and Forum Guidelines, which are designed to help ensure the forum remains free of offensive and/or illegal behaviour and material. In a nutshell:

1) Please avoid any content that other forum users may find offensive. If your track contains explicit lyrics, then please warn other forum users so they can choose for themselves whether to listen to it.

2) Please make sure you have permission to use any 3rd party sounds included in your track (ie. sounds that you have not recorded yourself, such as samples of other people's music). The owners of Basschat accept no responsibility for infringements of copyright or other forms of legal ownership, which are solely the responsibility of competition entrants.

3) Entries should be no more than five minutes long and written/produced during the month of the competition, taking inspiration from the photo provided. No cheating!

The deadline for entries is midnight on Wednesday 24th January.

...have fun(gi)! :)

It's a metaphor for our overcrowded planet: there isn't much room left...

Thanks, Lenny; you've given me a way into this. I'll see what I can do with the title 'Craterellus cornucopioides'. Hmm... Back soon...

You won't say that when you've heard it! It started off as a solo bass musing having looked at the pic... Now my mate has put some semi random acoustic guitar chords over the top and I'm currently improvising some drums over the top. It's definitely a bit free-form, a bit funghi and a touch freaky.

You might think Stinkhorn a better name :)

Anything's better than the savage 'wah' trombone stuff, and we've agreed to let the bagpipes alone for ever, so 'Bring it on..!', I say. It can't be that bad, can it..? o.O  Can it..? O.o

I might have to do mine solely on the MacBook.

Im redecorating the house & there’s not mush room to get my keys & instruments set up.

No need to spoon feed 'em, Fleabag. :)

And please don't call me, surely!

Loving all of the puns :) I'm pretty sure mine's going to include a couple of Spitfire libraries - Orchestral Swarm (as heard on the Blue Planet 2 soundtrack) and Albion V Tundra. I have an idea growing rapidly in my head (see what I did there?)
