jimbobothy Posted January 2, 2018 Posted January 2, 2018 (edited) Now considering trade offers for a lightweight head of some kind (Genz Benz Streamliner or Shuttle, Aguilar TH, Markbass etc) plus difference in £ OR a passive 5 string Jazz or P type bass with cash +/- depending. Hey folks, I recently got this double bass on an impulse after wanting to try one for a while but my time is better spent elsewhere I think. I bought it from it's original owner a month or so ago and they had bought it new a couple of years ago. It's in very good used condition with only a few minor usage marks, please see pictures below (there are actually very few marks on it, the light appears to give it a few more!) The front is solid whilst the sides and rear are laminated. It's on the smaller (and lighter) side of the 3/4 size so more easily transported and carried about. I'm just over 6 ft and with the endpin out, standing height is perfect. If you want to try out the world of Double Bass this is a good intro to it and a fairly inexpensive one. A padded soft case, stand and bow are also included in the sale. I'm asking £575 £450 firm collected from Halifax, West Yorkshire (or could meet up within reason) and any questions please just ask. knicknack Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 I've been playing a rented one of these, well set up they are a remarkable bass for that kind of money, and really come alive with a set of good strings. If we were nearby I'd have it off you! Good luck!
petebassist Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 As well as being very nicely put together, I found that they're also lighter and slightly less bulky than other basses in this size category Just the job if you're doing gigs in smaller bars and venues or like me you can't park outside your bloody house and probably have to carry it from a couple of streets away. Also, mine was highly resistant to feedback (with a BassMax wing pickup).
Andy Blowers Posted January 10, 2018 Posted January 10, 2018 Just spent some time with Jim and this bass - great neck profile and comfortable body shape. Had I have connected wth the bass and it was the one, I’d have taken it in a heartbeat. Plus, Jim is a very nice guy and super honest. Good luck with the sale, hope it finds a new home soon.
