hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Anyone use anything specific to get these open? I've grabbed a tab and downloaded it, but my laptop won't open it. Googling how to do it reveals many possible solutions. I'm after a point in the direction of something reliable, free and that won't attract any unwanted crap afterwards. Advice gratefully received. Dood Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 a GP file is a Guitar Pro file. The latest version of the application is Guitar Pro 6 and will happily open a GP5 file. There are probably other applications that might open this file, but they are generally rubbish Quote

Four songs to learn on the hurry up and not much time to sit writing them out as I normally would. Quote
Marvin Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Tux Guitar is ok. Like @charic said it’s not as good as GPro but it does the job. Tux Guitar will also open PowerTabs from Ultimate Guitar, which I’m not sure GPro does this. Quote
hiram.k.hackenbacker Posted January 4, 2018 Author Posted January 4, 2018 I tried Guitar Pro. Downloaded the program on a free trial, but it won't install for some reason Quote
ambient Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 What songs are you looking for? Someone might have a TAB or score they can give you. Quote
