Happy Jack Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 ... this isn't really what I have in mind. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ibanez-MC500-Arch-top-1979/182995037908?hash=item2a9b5aaed4:g:cpsAAOSwEaBaS9iA I know it's a guitar, and maybe it's just me, but that seems like a helluva lot for a 70s Japanese guitar. binky_bass Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 (edited) It's the riveting description that adds the extra £3000 in value Edited January 5, 2018 by binky_bass Quote
TheGreek Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Got to admit, it is a bit of a looker.... Quote
Bassassin Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Lovely old thing but not exactly immaculate. It's a high-end early Ibby Musician, looks to be in good, original order - although that red-tipped switch might have been changed. It's a rare guitar but I'd be very surprised if a realistic price would be more than £1000. I had an MC150 (passive, a bit more modest but same basic build) and sold it on for a massive £150! Will be watching this with interest in case of the unlikely eventuality that it sells - I have a set of those pearl-top Velve-Tune tuners and calculating from the asking price of this, they're worth about £400. Arch-top? Silly boy. Quote
fleabag Posted January 5, 2018 Posted January 5, 2018 Carved top would be the correct description Quote
