PawelG Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 (edited) Apparently the only 70’s jazz that Limelight did so far. Beautiful ash body (really rich tone, sounds like a serious Jazz Bass), maple neck with black blocks and binding. Nice vintage feel - to me the road worn job on this is one of the best out there. And obviously - hand wired limelight pickups - I don’t know much about the electronics, but these pickups have some serious output and they sound solid. Cuts right through the mix whatever you do. Bass is in Portsmouth, Hampshire. I can deliver within like an hour drive or send via courier. Got some cardboard boxes and all that. Generic case included. Let me know if you need more photos or just come around and try it. Beverage provided. Edited February 27, 2018 by PawelG
Bassdude BE Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 Hi bud, lovely jazz you got there! Can you please post the weight? And do you have an idea of what one of these would cost when oredered new? kind regards, Donovan
PawelG Posted January 8, 2018 Author Posted January 8, 2018 Hello, thanks. The weight is about 5kgs, not the lightest I guess but that’s what you get from ash. I don’t know how much it would cost to get it ordered - my price is set based on the other Limelights sold on here.
mrtcat Posted January 8, 2018 Posted January 8, 2018 I'm pretty sure I had a very quick play of this one when I went to pick up my Limelight P from Mark in 2016. If it's the same one it's a cracker. It was really loud without being plugged in and the neck was lovely. GLWTS

It’s like a real vintage jazz, but better, cause you know it’s not a Fender :-) Edited January 8, 2018 by PawelG 3
Kelpie Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 I'll take it as the neck is a jazz neck 38mm width? It looks beautiful, I love Limelight's light relics!

Lovely bass, a bit too heavy for me I'm afraid, otherwise I would've been all over this...
jimbobothy Posted January 9, 2018 Posted January 9, 2018 (edited) ... my personal favourite of all the Limelight I've seen I think, GLWTS Edited January 9, 2018 by jimbobothy 1
rumblefish Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Just played this bass this afternoon and it captures the late 70s Jazz Bass sound (my first Fender Jazz was a 1977) and has great sustain when played acoustically. 1
silverfoxnik Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 Another very cool looking bass Pawel; where do you find them all? ☺ Seriously though, it looks great and I bet it sounds great too! A good price and a very good seller, so hopefully it won't be around for too long.. GLWTS 1

iamtheelvy Posted January 11, 2018 Posted January 11, 2018 (edited) That’s pretty. And local... Not to get too off track, but do you play around Pompey, Pawel? Edited January 11, 2018 by iamtheelvy

chrisanthony1211 Posted January 12, 2018 Posted January 12, 2018 That’s some serious sexy 70s Mocha, you got any trade options?
PawelG Posted January 12, 2018 Author Posted January 12, 2018 I got quite a few trade questions. I could be interested in a cheaper bass plus cash my way. Thanks
AlexJMcGibbon Posted January 17, 2018 Posted January 17, 2018 Just want to add this a great bass and really does the 70s jazz thing well (I was the one who commissioned it originally, and kinda regret selling it!) 1
