I use a Mcmillan 12 step with a minitaur, all mounted on a pedal train.

works well, when I can be bothered to take it with me

unused for a couple of years now

How do you change your Minitaur patches?

The 12-step's buttons can be programmed.

This is from their site.

Here's another which shows its capabilities.

There's a few fluffs in there, so it might be a step too far! 🙂

I think that is pretty good going!

I don't change anything. I set it for one sound, manually. Think the intro to Don't stand so close to me.

I didn't think it would store different patches but I'm not very techy. Now pass me my mobile phone so I can see what my settings are!! I Photographed the minitaur settings and look at the picture when I use it

Each preset on the 12 step has an associated midi channel, midi parameters and patches and you can set it to send the channel change message, patch change message and other parameters when you change patch.

I generally leave my synth set the same but change the midi channel for a different sound, but that I because I have chopped and changed the synth a fair bit.

I think so too, it's more of a comment about the practicalities of pushing things that far vs. a criticism of the chap playing it!

Will the 12 Step send a stream of MIDI CCs on preset change so that you can "program" a device with no memories but who's controls are mapped to MIDI CCs?

I suspect not, not straight from the 12 step anyway, I think it just sends two.

if you connect it to the computer, it came with a load of python scripts to send whatever you wanted, though with a computer you could do what you wanted anyway

Came across these the other day. The Crumar Bassman. Stand alone with a built in synth module.

Looks cool. Wonder if they have the same trigger conntacts as original Moog ( Lowry)

Released in 2010/2011 I think. Quite expensive apparently. They make a pedal board only which Sting's been using with a Minitaur.
